What a pleasure
Barthlmä (Bartholomäus) Höllwarth promoted the "Gasthaus zum Pinzger" around the turn of the century with the following words in the newspaper: "The hotel is located on the western edge of the village, it has a garden with a view, a veranda, a bowling lane and numerous rooms for rental."
In 1927, Franz Höllwarth, son of Barthlmä, placed an advertisement in the book "Tirol - Natur, Kunst, Volk, Leben", in which he describes the amenities and virtues of the house as follows:
"The best place to stay, good home-style cooking, genuine Tyrolean wines at reasonable prices. Traditional Zillertal entertainment provided. (Piano and radio in the house.) Our own dairy farm. Winter sports."
In the mid 1930's, my great-grandfather bought "Gasthaus zum Pinzger" from the Höllwarth family, and it was leased. From May 1, 1946, "der Pinzger" was run by my grandmother and grandfather who handed down the business to their daughters in the 1960's.
With several construction stages from 1970 to 1972, the old Gasthaus zum Pinzger was updated to meet the requirements of new times and was replaced by the current Hotel zum Pinzger. In the following years, the hotel was repeatedly modernized, and the greatest expansion took place in 1992 with the construction of an additional wing. In 2008, the sisters handed down the business to the current owner Mike Kröll. As before, it is still the "best place to stay" and has "home-style cooking". And of course a radio also nowadays.
